Foxton Loop..........3 days to go

Looking forward to the Foxton Loop race this Saturday. A few people I know haven't done this event before and are heading up to it, so I'm sure they are keen on the road trip as well.

It should be a flat water affair pretty much, though some had a big surprise a few years ago when the wind and tide pushed up a
descent swell at the start finish area which made it interesting.

Last year I did the 18 km on the Think Uno Max Elite in 1 hr 42 mins, currently I just have the Evo II Elite in the stable so it'll take a bit of muscle power to get close to that time this year. All I can say at this stage is I'm glad the Manawatu River and the Loop are
both deep water courses.

Hey no problems if you have a surf ski........we love the waves.

Speaking of waves here's a video from the Think stable courtesy of Dion Maxwell. This one is of Sean Rice Test riding the Think Ion Elite, 5 days ago click here to view

  1. Dont forget its the 25th Anniversary of the Loop race this year so a bumper turnout of paddlers, both sit down and Stand Up would be great. Its only an hour and a half up the road from most of you and it would be great to see you all gracing the water at our spot here in Foxton Beach. Some GREAT Spot prizes on offer, from Welly Paddkers , Wind Warriors, Fergs Kayaks and some other awesome outdoor brands as well.
Sadly i will not be in attendance at the race on my own doorstep this year as i will be Kitesurfing for 11 days in the warm waters of Aitutaki in the Cook Islands. But dont let that stop you coming along to win my Spot prizes!
    Have a great race guys!
