Earlier in the week the forecast for Friday and Saturday was supposed to be quite wet and bleak..........but wallah the rain held off for most of today, so I managed to sneak out on the SUP in Evans Bay for a bit of extramural paddling.
A 20 kmh Northerly in the confines of Hataitai Beach / Greta Point area is always a pleasurable jaunt, especially as the weather gets a bit cooler, it's not overly challenging, just good exercise and that's what it's all about.
Counting down.......... 9 days to go........ to the first event of the winter series at the location I
paddled today.
A few of points worth mentioning about the series.

A few of points worth mentioning about the series.
- We had around 60 to 80 paddlers at most events last season which is a pretty good effort for the winter period.
- All entry money from each event this year goes into the spot prize pool (prizes drawn at last event)
- Last Season we collected around $700 in entry fees and converted this into $2400 of spot prizes thanks to Fergs Kayaks Wellington.
- Thanks to Dave Annear at Fergs Kayaks who is also right behind this years Series again.
Don't forget it's not all about fitness, and it's not all about speed to get yourself ready for the series........you'll gain all those attributes along the way by particpating.........and it's also the perfect way to pass the winter months by.
So get your butt off the couch and get yourself down to this years Welly Paddlers Winter Series..........P.S. you can lay on the couch for a bit after each event!
