The Think Uno Max had a good squirt around the Evans Bay and Oriental Parade Areas today. A nice easy 20 kmh Southerly and the ski was carving it's way around the Coastline in relatively benign conditions. The other day I was having a grizzle about the Honeycomb construction......... but to be fair there are so many compromises with every construction............and to tell you the truth this construction is light and holds it's form for years..............if you damage your gear you just have to take it on the chin and go............"my bad."
I'm paddling the Uno Max with a Legend Fluid paddle (medium blade) but for me at the moment a Legend Hydra (small blade) is more productive for the limited (performance) paddling I do nowadays. Of course I love my blades on the Rochfort Paddles balanced cranked shaft.
Plug for a mate www.millenniumpaddles.co.nz Corey is starting to churn out a few paddles and is keen to pick up work from the surf life saving clubs and paddlers that don't want to pay moon rocks for a paddle...............Corey took redundancy Johnson Watersports who bought out Canoe Sports NZ Napier................he took the intiative to start his own Business in this Recession. Good work Corey we wish you well.
After work Sharlene and hooked up for a SUP paddle.............. which we try to do at least once a week.
Sharlene rolls up on her scooter to meet me with all the gear on the way home from work. We started from The Marina at the end of Cobham drive and did a few runs along Cobham Drive then down to Hataitai Beach......................towards the end Sharlene decided to do a bit of SUP yoga.............which I'm sure a few other people in Wellington would like to get into as well.
Other photos: the wind socks on Cobham drive with the ASB Sports Centre in the background, and looking towards the Airport runway then Sharlene doing her thing on her Fanatic Ray and Kailoa Paddle.
