An uphill battle

Just chatting to a few people after the Kupe Canoe Club Twilight event.................and they said it was hard work paddling the 7 km around the Fountain on Oriental Parade and back..............especially through the lack of paddling for one reason or another..............funnily enough one of the photos I took prior to the start looked like an uphill paddle.

I was lucky enough to start with the middle group as I just wanted to turn the arms over on the Think Uno Max...................and as Stewart O'Regan from Think Australia says "he loves the glide well" yes once you get it going it's hard not to put the brakes on.
Had an interesting moment rounding Point Jerningham and got the full blast of the setting sun................ totally caught off guard on that one and dropped my paddle down just to re focus the eyeballs............. sunhat and sunglasses were no match for that one!

The Twilights always lack numbers of people attending in the weeks immediately after the Coast to Coast............ but hopefully numbers will improve over the last 5 weeks of the Series.

Sure there are heaps of other events coming up but hey people.................you can "paddle multitask or cross train" around these other events. Just roll up to turn the arms over................it doesn't have to be a full on race if you don't want it to be..............just saying it's great to have a regular gig, but it would be awesome if more people supported it.

On the flip side good to see heaps of Think surf skis on the water tonight participating see more of them at the surf ski demo evening which is run around the Twilight Series next week
