Don't ask me this happens on a regular basis.
Stick to the script.
My advice follow your script............... if you put something on your website and do something contrary to what's being written on there you like a monkey in my books..............a bit of follow through, that's all you have to do.
Mana Kayak Racing Club have done this with their Rubber Duck series, now are Kupe doing this as well?
Stick to the script.
Nuts and bolts............. tonight the event could have been run at Oriental Parade.
If we are required to make good decisions every day for our Employers.............. can we bring that same ethic into our "out of work" activities................"pretty please with sugar on top"
If we are required to make good decisions every day for our Employers.............. can we bring that same ethic into our "out of work" activities................"pretty please with sugar on top"
Why don't we get more people along to our activities?............. maybe it's that we are too wishy, washy and leave our smart brains in our workplaces..............some days.
Here's what you do............. if you are running a kayaking activity in Wellington go down to the venue then make the call on the course from there..............simple.
Don't forget there are many people who have bought their boats into the City from home and they will appreciate a live call at the venue.............. more than some random call when they are there, and you are not.
No I'm not picking on Clubs.
Individuals, think about what you are doing and look after your regular paddlers they are your base, the foundation of your regular activity..............don't just pander to the only turn up sometimes paddlers...........because they will only turn up when it's flat and the suns out won't they.
We live in Wellington............deal with our weather and embrace it.
Freelance Tuesday then...............Thanks to Tim Sutton for the company out on the water tonight we paddled from Kupe up to Cobham Drive then surfed downwind (30 kmh SW gusting to 50 kmh) to Oriental Parade found the shelter, then across pass the Overseas Terminal through to Frank Kitts Lagoon.
On the way back it was a nice easy run downwind past Oriental Parade then once we headed back up Evans Bay again it was all on..............some of the gusts from Point Jerningham up to Little Karaka Bay made life interesting, but past there tucking into each of the Bays we made much better progress.
A good 90 minute paddle. Tim Sutton is training for the Speights Coast to Coast and was paddling a Sharp 6m multisport kayak with Legend Hydra, I was on the Think Evo II surf ski and paddlng with my Legend hydra also.
I'm still refining my video technique while paddling..............should have something in the next week or so............practice makes perfect as they say.
