The K 15 is a flatwater sup from the Starboard stable and today it had it's regular spin in a 10kmh to 15kmh Southerly.
The start venue was Hataitai beach and I headed downwind up Evans Bay and headed around to Freyberg Beach on Oriental Parade. Today I was again testing the camera/video mount this time on the sup. On the trip up Evans Bay I came across "Pirate Pete Notman" ( A supoporter of a few Welly Paddlers events) who was out doing the hard yards for Niwa, undertaking water quality testing in various spots in the bay......... Here's Pete's webpage https://sites.google.com/site/piratepetester/
Once at Freyberg beach I had a stop and talked to a couple of the Fergs Kayaks girls who were having a day off work and out paddling.
Paddling is a family affair and actually there were 3 sisters altogether and Dad as well.
Had a snack then had an easy ride across Oriental Bay then back down Evans bay into a slightly testy headwind with associated waves................great skill building on the sup..............but not as wild as the trip back down Evans Bay yesterday on the surf ski!
Tomorrow I'll be out after work on one of the surf skis............apparently it's another good southerly with the chance of a possible thunderstorm and maybe lightening............all that before I go for a paddle though!
