Now that all the Christmas & New Year huha has died off........... it's back into the routine again.
The Capital is so peaceful at the moment with many on summer holidays so the City is fairly quiet with traffic, or the lack of it, makes this time of the year really special by staying at home and avoiding the scramble of the popular packed out or overcrowed holiday destinations.
Had a nice paddle on the ski in a 30kmh North westerly today around the bottom of Evans Bay, just getting in to the old holding pattern of doing 4 lap rounders for the up coming twilight series events starting on Tuesday from January 8
The twilight kayaking nights are a good chance to meet up and paddle with others..............but like anything only if you want to.
After a turbulent few days of Northerlies in the Capital, with yesterday peaking at 94 kmh, it is good to see many will get a reprieve up until mid next week at least, where we will see a a few wind changes but nothing getting up to anything more than 40kmh.
The weekend looks good for a bit of sup paddling with Sharlene............and then a few good doses of surf ski padding on both the Uno Max and the Evo II.
Photos: Looking back into the "sheltered pocket" at Greta Point in Evans Bay and surfing the light swells downwind looking at the Northern end of the airport runway in Evans Bay
