Hey you guys keen to go for a sup?
Text from Katie on Friday night to go for a sup paddle. People starting to come back from Christmas New Year mini breaks so a good chance to catch up with the gang again. It was fairly brisk Northerly for sup's this morning around on Oriental Parade so the old Hataitai Beach is always an easy option in Wellington City.
Katie was able rope in Tio, who called Chas to join in as well as Sharlene and I, for a casual sup, later in the afternoon Katie and Tio were out at Lyall Bay surfing the lazy 2 foot swell also.
It was a scorcher of a day.................too much sun, and after a while and some shade was surely appreciated to avoid the ever present harmful sun rays.
There were probably heaps of others on sups around the region today doing their own thing.
A good chance for many to get together will come this Sunday Jan 13 with the first Welly Paddlers downwinder............it's for sup's, surf skis and W1 waka ama just kept an eye out for the updates through the week here on www.wellypaddlers.blogspot.co.nz .............. the final venue being announced by 10 am this Saturday............the event is the next day on the Sunday starting at 10 am sharp.
The Greater Wellington Region Council Harbour bylaws state leg leashes and PFD's must be worn...........view the event flyer right hand side of this page.
