Loving that wind

The sun has been absolutely baking during the days, and with me having to go through the unpleasant business of getting skin cancers cut out over the years, I prefer to get out on the water either earlier in the morning or later in the afternoon..............and live in the shade during the day.

Today I went out at 4.30pm in Evans Bay and enjoyed a nice 40 kmh Northerly producing some easy to catch swells from Greta Point then looping back upwind in the shelter to run them again...................it might seem boring to many, but with the Twilight kayaking starting tomorrow those are the circuits that they run in the shelter to suit the multisport kayakers here.
I'm not that bothered it's great to get out and mingle amongst 20 to 30 other paddlers at least once a week, it's about supporting other peoples events and being social.

I quite often hear people with their wish lists and winning lotto tends to be right up there, I don't live my life dreaming about money, I live it by working and saving for the things that keep me healthy and not wasting money on electrical appliances, i-pads and cars etc.................less money spent buying stuff maybe we don't all really need.............. so we can spend the money we save, on a surf ski maybe................ or something else that's going to keep us fit.

There is no point having money when you haven't got your health and it's also sanity spending, when maybe you shell out so much on the kids every other time?
So I don't have dreams about winning lotto.............. but I do get a kick from more people in the Capital buying a surf ski.........................why, because this place is so damned windy, why wouldn't you buy one!

Yeah I forgot................I don't mind buying the odd stand up paddle board as well :-)

Photos back again, just installed Google chrome.............. here's some photos from the other day. click on any photo to enlarge.
