Mana KRC event this weekend...and more

Mana Kayak Racing Club are hosting one of the rounds of the National 10 km Series this Sunday.

The format is somewhat irregular to the other events around the Country with a 5 km, 3 km and 2 km format being adopted in an effort to increase participation.

The only thing to watch, for with the K1 paddlers, is a strong Southerly forecast which means multisport kayaks, waka ama and surf skis could gain more of an advantage from those conditions if the event is held in front of their Club. Like many events in the winter numbers can be humbled by a poor forecast on the day.

On Saturday Brian Sanders is running the second of his three downriver events on the Ruamahanga River. The second event will start at Gladstone and finish at Foreman Jury Road, Ponatahi. This section is grade 1 and the distance is 12 km.

The next Wairarapa Event on Lake Henley, Organised by Paddy Rimene is coming up on August 9 and we're going to head over to this one as it's important to support everyone's events, it's a reciprocal thing.
