Yes this could be the new highlight on the Wellington Region Paddling Calendar kicking off in 4 days.
Current weather outlook for Sunday is sitting at a 30 kmh to 40 kmh Northerly with wind on Monday, Tuesday possibly sliding forward to Sunday which may mean it may be lighter again.
Lots of enthusiasm out there for this years event, but being "an enter on the day" event we won't know till we see who is able to turn up.
A few people are as usual injured (like me currently, head on crash on motorbike) some are on holiday, others in Auckland, others mountain biking or running events on and also "The King of the Harbour" in Auckland on Saturday.
Big shout out to Kenny Rice (South Africa) who paddles for Think Kayak.
I'm been out today checking out a bunch of spot prizes to buy and some special treats for all paddlers at the finish.
Another update to come on Friday then the final update at 10 am on Saturday Morning......remember the event is on Sunday March 30 at 10 am.........we'll be there from 8 am.
Photos: Eastbourne Downwind event 2013 and The Motorway Classic in 2013
Paddlers on the water, paddlers chill laxing, Where's Movie Guy? and supporting Dad on the sidelines.
