Saturday Surfing Evans Bay

35 kmh Northerly breezing through Evans Bay what do you do?....................pack ski on car and head to Greta Point to surf the windswells in the Bay.

Meet up with Iain Gillies on his Fenn XT and we did umpteen circuits from Greta Point surfing various angles downwind to Cobham Drive then back upwind in the relative shelter of Hataitai Beach and back up to Greta Point. At 35kmh lots of fairly even swells with maximum height of 700mm or thereabouts and the bigger ones you surf down and also through them to run ahead chasing a further set which links up with some other continuous rides.

We went along the side swells by Cobham drive just to mix it up a bit and get use to the swells running under the skis both ways, a good way to skill build and give yourself confidence in your balance.

Out on the water next on Monday and Tuesday tomorrow a bit of leg exercise beating the pavements and tracks around the eastern Suburbs and then a swim in one of the beautiful little bays out this way............or might even get out again and have another crack at a Southerly on the ski..........

No photos today turned the camera on while following Iain down a swell screen says no SD memory card!
