Kupe Summer Series

Good on yer Sandy and Dean for showing faith in our local patch and setting a course tonight using both waves and some shelter that the Cobham Drive course offers.

The best choice in setting a course is always one made be physically being on location to see what's happening on the water. Forecasts are a good guide but they are predications and sometimes the worst of the forecast may have already blown through. Yes there are always people that won't be happy when they can't paddle in their hallowed sheltered areas, but sometimes you just have to give things a whirl and give people just a little bit of a challenge, you'll be doing everyone a favour.

If people get grizzly and don't like half of a challenge to get out on the water and participate it's their loss. To the Paddlers don't judge the weather from your Office Towers, or from out in the Suburbs, get down to the venue and see the enthusiasm of people who are truly keen to get out and face a challenge.
Good work on the decision from the Organisers, your faith was rewarded and I think everyone who turned up enjoyed it.

I finished about mid field thanks to Liam who blocked the head wind for me.............I'll be following him next week as well.
