3 days out from the first event of the 6 event Welly Paddlers Winter Series.............so paddlers better be ready for a challenging start to the Series. After several weeks of fairly calm flat harbour conditions the wind is coming back to greet us this weekend. We are expecting North Westerly winds and if it's super breezy we are easily able to run a multi lap course within the Greta Point area offering both sheltered upwind and some small downwind runs.
The standard course will be around 7km to 8 km while the SUP course will be 3km to 4km.
We may also be able to run a course up to Balaena Bay and back if the NW offers suitable conditions. The shortened course for SUP's will still be tight within Greta Point area.
The start will be from Hataitai Beach on Evans Bay Parade and we'll be watching the forecast over the next few days to work out a suitable course.
Please click on the event flyer on the right hand side of this page to view event entry details.
We will make a final call on the courses for the event by 10 am Saturday May 25 you can view this info here and also on www.hoetonga.co.nz
