Downwinder THREE venue

Course for Sunday:

The course is where the 3 pins meet the map (at the end of this article).

The start/finish point is on Marine Parade (at the end of Falkirk Street)...............200 metres from the icecream shop and fish and chip shop if you feel peckish afterwards :-)

Each triangular lap is 3km, we start upwind, then you get a 1.5 km downwind leg then upwind again to the start/finish.
We're going to have a light southerly at around 25 kmh, the area is pretty sheltered so it will seem like you'll have less wind especially for the small upwind sections..........we also have a high tide at 11.35am.

The course is 2 laps (6km)..............though if anyone would like to do 3km that's fine with us.

We will have the race briefing at 9.50 am. SUP's start at 10 am any surf ski or waka ama will start at 10.10 am.
Chester will sweep the course to follow the last paddlers to the finish.

Bring your $5 entry fee..............that pays for the spot prizes that are on offer (approx $600 worth)...........and those who didn't bring your money two weeks ago bring an extra $5 for that.

We will draw a whole bunch of spot prizes 10 minutes after the last paddler has finished.........then we'll carry on by lounging around on the beach yakking to everyone or head down to the shop for an icecream.

If you live North of Wellington City please use the South Coast Road either through Island Bay or Owhiro Bay and travel right round the Coast through Breaker Bay to Seatoun then you won't get caught in traffic..............remember the round the bays fun run has closed or caused diversions on many City and Eastern Suburbs roads till 1pm.
