Stand Up paddle boarding is lame?

Yesterday I was probably one of the few people kayaking on the harbour in the afternoon..........mind you it was a mean North Westerly at 45 kmh gusting to 65 kmh ,by the time I went out close to midday..........but still with the right clothing and the right surf ski you're in business.
N.B. The wiser kayakers went out in the morning!

Today it was family day, and a good day for a sup paddle, so Sharlene and I headed down to Hataitai Beach at 1 .30pm....... man it was flat as a pancake...........and wow heaps of fine weather kayakers out on the water too.........a special treat.........sort of like as special as seeing an Orca in the harbour.........jokes.

Had to laugh at one kayaker......... who hasn't been on the water in 12 months........... was telling us that sup looked a bit lame.............one thing I do know........... sup paddlers have been outnumbering kayakers at our events (even on windy inclement days) over the last 12 months.........lame has many interpretations I guess.

Anyhow we had a great paddle did around 8 km around to Oriental Bay and back, checked out this huge catamaran moored in Evans Bay called "Che" an Antwerpen registered super yacht www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmrkRsUzQCE

It's Wellington Anniversary tomorrow, so all us hard workers get the day off. Tomorrow I'll be steaming around Evans bay on my Think Uno max, more than likely late in the afternoon when it starts to cool off a little.
The weather looks great for tomorrow and Tuesday so it will also be good to have a blast around Evans Bay with the kayakers on the regular Tuesday twilight series paddle event. www.kupe.org.nz
