Still Cold enough for the Cold Kiwi Series....

.......yes it is !

Great little course today out on the Pauatahanui inlet high tide keen people.......and yes it was warm once everyone got going......I know this as I saw people taking their hats off after about 10 minutes or so.

I'm actually a big fan of the circuit courses you get to mingle really well on the water and check everyone's progress at all ends of the feild......it's way more social and on many occasions more spectator and photo freindly.

Always awesome to have people travel to events we do heaps of it.....Thanks to Neil Taylor who came through from Nelson and also bought demo surf skis and kayaks from the Flow Kayaks fleet which is what we need more of in Wellington.........both kayak SUP and Waka Ama..........try before you buy love it! Garfeild Toro thank you for coming through from Whanganui, Paddy Rimene and Les Morris for coming over from the Wairarapa.

Though it's easy to harp on about using events/races like this as part of everyone's training schedules these events are more about bringing the Paddling Community in Wellington together during the winter months it's social and exercise is good for the body.

Here's everyone's time's from today from the 8 km course.....Mana Bridge, Ivey Bay Browns Bay and back the same way x 2 laps. A good high tide and a nice little South Easterly wind was just the tonic around the Browns Bay end of the course with the rest being flat.

We have a new rule for the new event........any craft with sharp protusions will require a wine bottle cork to minimise risk of damage to other craft.....Dave McKnight has a repair on his ski that took him out just before the start......ouuch!
