Men at Work

Hey Boss I'm just popping down the road to get some hardware for the next job...... Na it's all planned everyone's, still doing their 50 hours plus for the week.......or have some time in lieu :-)

Reuben Hill, Peter Melling and myself took a well earned break from work to hone our wave riding skills inside Evans Bay's Greta Point today. A chilly 9 degree icey winds were tough on the hands....(but then pogies or gloves would have been the best bet today) the North Westerly sliding through at 40 kmh provided many sweet easy to catch sets to keep us busy.

The circuit we do tucks inside Greta Point and is the traditional bread and butter course for the Summer Twilight kayaking events.....when it's super windy (which is more often than not in Welly) the multisport kayaks get a fair crack of the cherry....around this course.

It's the old story in Wellington when the wind gets right up the numbers do drop off or the courses get really short and close to shore, because there's still plenty of people paddling kayaks that are way above their skill level. Not a biggy if you own two kayaks or two skis......the old horses for courses rule then comes into play.

What you haven't got a surf ski????....get saving.....don't worry about upgrading your cellphone, TV set or car......they're all going to keep you in debt and unfit.
Get with the program Peps....do your body a favour!.... haven't you seen all the good people around Wellington buying surf skis, waka ama and SUP's this year????...wakey wakey......you know how the saying goes.......if you can't beat em..........join em!

On the Horizon....
