Go girls!

Surf skis are going to be hitting our Wellington waters big time over the next two years, and to make sure we don't leave some of the important people behind in our households and workplaces we'll be putting in some extra effort to get a few of the Ladies out there on surf skis.

You might say have you got rocks in your head winters on it's way....it sure is but it's not like we suffer the same cold as Northern Europe or even North America.

The Wellington climate is moderate and as you know, our hottest day is around 26 degrees C and our coldest day once in a blue moon is around 8 degrees C. It's all about the right clothing and being smart where you paddle......we use Adrenalin clothing from Fergs Kayaks at $50 for the longs and $70 for the long tops and then neoprene booties and we're both covered well for the winter.

Sharlene is keen to get out on a surf ski to paddle one or two of the Cold Kiwi Series events and even the Foxton Loop short course late September.

I paddle all year round on the surf ski it's no big deal............and as you all know Wellington is made more for surf skis more than for kayaks on many days.
Are you ready to take a leap of faith in your kayaking progression and have crack at paddling a surf ski?
If you are call me Chester on 022 6455 820 and I'll hook you up with some surf skis and a "one on one" trial on setting these skis up correctly and paddling them.
There isn't a charge for doing this apart from a $60 per hour hire cost of these skis from Fergs Kayaks and you'll have two skis to try out each time and a session will take around an hour.
