Petone Foreshore by the Giant Oars at the end of Cuba Street.
Main course is 8.2 km around Matiu (Somes Island) and back SUP course is 3km, Foreshore to 750 metre buoy back then shore buoy x 2 laps

Open to all Surf ski, Outrigger Canoes, Sea Kayaks, Stand Up Paddle boards, Multisport kayaks and Adventure racing doubles

Surf ski Skills day
Thursday February 25, 2010 from 5.30 pm
Hataitai Beach, Evans Bay, Wellington
Instead of holding our 2nd demo day of the Season we are hosting a Surf ski skills session. If you would like to learn/improve skills and knowledge in the following areas be there:

Choosing the best ski for your ability
ski remounting
riding and timing the swells
trying individuals skis on the night
clothing available for our winter
forecasting and the best paddling spots in all of Wellingtons smorgasboard of conditions
safety and other equipment available

I'll be looking at assembling at least 3 of Wellingtons top surf ski paddlers and I'll be assisting them as well to make sure everyone who turns up, has their needs catered for.

Better than t.v Twilight kayak Series. Shane Ross has been running this Series for 10 years or more now. http://www.betterthantv.co.nz/ For the best mid week racing in Wellington head to Greta Point for registration at 5.45 pm with the race starting at 6.30pm
The distance is approx 7km it costs $5 and there's a bbq and beers to finish off the Season (it runs up to the last week before daylight saving).
