Comings and goings.........

This weekend Capital Paddlers are running the last event of their Summer Stand Up Paddle Board Series. At this stage the event location and format has yet to be decided, as watching the weather, wind and water conditions is an integral part of running the best possible course/s for paddlers.

Also here's a follow up from the Wairarapa Multisport Clubs Summer Kayak Series.
Each event is on the Ruamahanga River at Gladstone and the Event Organiser is one of the original Coast to Coast Legends from the first events, Brian Saunders.  Brian still paddles regularly and paddles the kayaks he designed a few years back the Apteryx. To follow the WMSC events http://www.wmsc.org.nz/

Last night had a great old time on the water after work. Sharlene and I headed down the road to Shelly Bay with SUP and surf ski on board.

We came across a whole bunch of paddlers, both on and off the water, we paddled up to Cobham drive with Movie guy on his Starboard SUP and came across Alex Dean on his SUP, yakked with Mark Hearfield and his partner in an adventure racing double kayak also. Mark, AJ Millward, Dave Dellabarca and Nick Lowe are heading off to do the Godzone adventure race down south in about 2 weeks time they are a great bunch of paddling mates and well see them exceeding their expectations in this years event, to follow this event click here http://godzoneadventure.com/

As usual this weekend you will see us out there supporting paddling events whether we are being competitive or not it doesn't matter we have to play our part by just simply getting out there and making the numbers up.......paddlers supporting paddlers that's what it's all about.

With our flagship event for the year coming up "The Motorway Classic" there's somewhere over 50 hours of time that we put into running this event each year. From the moment we set the date for the 2014 event, which was set in May 2013, to the last results, photos and articles this is the amount of people hours we put into this it, above are some of logos for our event gazebo this year.
