Ngatitoa surf ski event

Today our event, I suppose, was really a curtain raiser for some bigger activities out in the Mana area, The Mana O.C.6 Ocean Challenge and Annabelle Anderson running three SUP coaching clinics.

A few more extra bodies hit the water today so thank you for squeezing the time into mingle with the us. People are buying surf skis all the time and as confidence increases and working around work, holidays and Family schedules we will see a few more people out each month.

Today our course was approx 6 km a bit of a shorty, but still it provided everyone with a mix of wind, boat and wave swell and kept everyone on their toes or slightly interested in turning up next time. The best way to describe the course was that it suited an intermediate skill level and like everything, with every event that newer paddlers take on, balance skills will continue to improve.

Here's the times from today.

30:20 Chester Burt
32:11 Dave Ryde
32:27 Leon Rossbotham
34:25 Iain Gillies
34:54 Jeff Booth
34:58 Nigel Parry
40:59 Dave McKnight
45:07 Graham Daniel
00.00 Barton Fletcher (short course 26:33)

Our next Welly surf ski series event is on March 1 it will either be at Scorching Bay or Days Bay (depending on weather conditions)

Our Main event for the year The Motorway Classic is on March 30 this event includes kayaks, waka ama and SUP's with three course options.

This last one is for anyone who is getting into paddling the Ocean racing type surf skis ( these skis have very deep seats), this is the easiest way to remount your surf ski..........so thanks to Alex Matthews for sharing this around the internet.
