Orca and the Twilight Kayaking

Here's a few images from 2009 from a combined twilight event that Shane Ross used to run and surf ski demo night that Welly Paddlers ran with Ian Ferguson. On this particular February evening there were 45 paddlers on the water.

Yeah sure there's been a decline in numbers but that's life I guess.

With a bit of luck there will still be about 15 to 20 paddlers out tonight enjoying this great patch of weather and we'll still get to see the Orca that are swimming in the harbour while we paddle along the shoreline.......... out of their way of course

If you're keen to paddle tonight see you on the water for the 6.30pm start..........it's one of the few activities around that you'll still pay only 5 bucks for.

Well worth coming along whether it's just for a social paddle or to blow a few cobwebs out.

Also don't get caught in a nose to tail in traffic on the way round tonight with all the rubber neckers and cars parked in cycle lines and on the footpath grabbing a sneaky view of the Orca Pod.
