Wow it, was cold everywhere else but Freyberg Beach was well out of the wind and the late afternoon sun was awesome.
Tonight John, Karl, Josh, Angela, Molly, Sharlene, Myself and we can count Tio as well............... because he was paddling alongside his partner who was Ocean swim training out to Point Jerningham and back.
Big thanks again to Dave at Wild Winds for the use of the "Green Machine" the Fanatic Ray touring/ race SUP.
It was awesome to paddle, nice and light, quick and easier to manouvre than our 15kg Starboard Race touring/race SUP.
The good thing about the SETS is that you get to talk to people and find out where they paddle and learn more about what they do.
Tonight we had a good yak to Angela and Molly we paddled each others boards.........their surf SUPs were more suited to their lighter weights not my 90 kg..............and boy were those boards tippy..............they handle them like pros.................compared to my flimmsy efforts on both their boards.
Both Angela and Molly also loved paddling the Fanatic Ray, as I think most people, also would as well.
Sharlene got to paddle Angelas funky Kialoa pipes SUP paddle.................it was so awesome we ordered one from Glenn at Wind Warrior.
Glenn has been supporting all the SUP/surf ski/waka ama/kayak events over the winter.................. so why wouldn't we support his Business!
Like all the SUP retailers in our Region........ their websites are all on the left hand side of this page.
Sorry I forgot to bring the camera along this week, next week I'll bring it along to catch a few of Fanatic Sup'ers falling off again............... aye Howie ha ha ha

Molly and I had a fantastic time, thank you! It was grand meeting fellow paddlers, and trying out different boards - especially the Green Machine. Stoked to hear Sharlene has ordered a Kialoa pipe - it's uber light. And pretty:) I am unable to do the next two thursdays, but hopefully Molly will be able to join in.
