Yay we have wind again! If you've got a surf ski you got to love the wind and Wellington is the epicentre for it. Today just had a 40kmh North Westerly (a gentle zephyr) so it was just about perfect to catch abunch of wind swells down Evans Bay. Today I did a little circuit at Greta Point then headed around to Oriental Parade to check out "the washing machine"
It's about 3.5 km around to Freyberg Beach on Oriental Parade and with a NW we get a big washing machine effect with the waves reflecting off the sea wall, it becomes a great little skill builder.
A good 80 minute session out there today and especially more enjoyable to have full steering on both sides of my rudder, but of course the best steering comes from railing the ski over to run and cross the swells.
