Tasman Bay Surf ski training/racing weekend

Hey thanks to all those who helped me get from A to E to B and to C in the weekend.

Without all the rides you all gave, this trip wouldn't have been as smooth as it was for me, and probably a bit out of the way for you, thanks to your Wifes and Partners for their patience, waiting for you, while you were helping me out.

Special thanks to the Blenheim connections John Blackmore pick up from the Ferry through to Nelson on Saturday Warren Bartlett and Matt Thompson for the shuttles with myself and all our boats and especially Paul Bourgeois for the extra late trips to the Ferry at 9.30 pm in January for race 2 of the Tasman Bay Surf Ski Series and yesterdays pickup's and drop offs as well.

At the Nelson end thanks to Ron Wastney and Claire Parkes from Motueka for shuttling my ski around and Sam Dillion for dropping me off to my accomodation at the Tahunanui Beach Holiday Park.

Shane Anderson at Kitesurf Nelson for squeezing me in on the tight hire schedule that day for the Rob Naish Stand Up Paddle board (SUP) hire at Tahunanui also.

After a big drive to Nelson a good paddle in wind and swell a big drive back from Nelson then to the Ferry and not getting back home till about 10.30pm Paul was putting in a huge effort to help me out..............thanks to Lisa Bourgeois for two awesome meals at the Blenheim end both trips and great company with them and all of you.

Because of the Tsunami the homeward trip was an hour late getting in due to the Ferries heading into Picton via the Northern QC channel so I hit Wellington at 2.30am today. If any of you are in Wellington need a lift or anything just sing out.

Finally big thanks to Race Organisers like Nathan for putting on these events we all (especially me) need to catch up and upskill majorly, our Ocean racing skills.............. our flatwater and small wave skill skills are fine just need to work harder on the variety in all the regions.

Support your Race Organisers .................and other paddlers to come along to the Ocean Races everywhere. Paddlers can flow seemlessly between the various sports it's mattter of choosing to and taking up a new challenge..................Politics is left at home with Ocean Racing...............even in Auckland they are aware of leaving the "bullshit factor" out of this Great Sport of Ocean Paddling and the Sport is growing "Organically" so that's telling you something.
