Yes back on the water!

Hit the water today with Peter Svensson from www.globalsurfski.com We were out on a couple of Think Kayak surf skis from Kajaktiv on the Island of Tjorn, 50 minutes North of Gotenburg. Thank you James Venimore owner of www.kajaktiv.se Dala-Floda and Tjorn. James used to race multisport with us in the late 80's when we were both in Hamilton, he has lived in Sweden for the past 20 years or so, and still comes back to New Zealand most years to visit Family back in the Bay of Plenty.

The Island of Tjorn is awesome, it has an Archipelago of around 300 islands surrounding the main Island, it's approx 60 km around Tjorn and 100km around the outer ring of islands, it's a real maze paddling around here and simply a stunning place to go kayaking/paddling for all skill levels.

One final piece of history that many may forget.... John Walker was the first man to break 3 minutes 49.4 seconds for the mile on August 12 in 1975 at Ullevi Stadium here in Gotenburg......we went to visit the hallowed turf.....but like most stadiums they are closed to the public till game days...... make's you appreciate that the Basin Reserve still has public though fare a rarity in this modern age.
