A 30 kmh South Easterly, while a bit cool was just the ticket to be out on the water........and after 4 days off the water I get withdrawl symptoms.
I'm out on the ski, but all our Welly Paddlers mates.........about 200 - 300 of them who I know by face and name.........and sometimes just face only........ are all out on the water around the greater Wellington Region on waka ama, (outrigger canoe or Vaa) stand up paddle boards, surf skis and kayaks.Next weekend September 8 we'll bring all our paddling mates together for the final event of the Welly Paddlers Winter Series, which Jörn Scherzer is running for us out at Ngati Toa Domain.
This week was quite busy for Dave Annear at Fergs Kayaks, he spent a good part of Monday talking to suppliers and scrumaging around putting the spot prizes together for the last event. We have somewhere between $2500 and $3000 worth of gear to give away.........so big thanks again to Dave all the work you've done for us all.
At the last event I believe that Felipe Alonso Dos Santos from the Auckland store will be down. Felipe is sponsored by Starboard and many Wellingtonians will also know him through waka ama as well.
