The 55km Molokai channel race proved fruitful for Kiwi competitors last weekend.
Katie Pocock won the womens race and was 23rd overall.
Travis Mitchell came home in 5th place, which I think is the best ever performance by a Kiwi male in the race, Paul Wilford came in 12th and Tim Grammer 17th.

Well the weather hasn't been spectacularly brilliant for paddling of late, but still it might just clear up nicely for Matariki this weekend. The $25 entry closed on May 22.............but you can still enter this race and pay an extra $15 for late entry.
Below are a few races that I love doing in the supposed off season. I did the Portage race in Picton on May 16 and did o.k.
I paddled my 15kg Fenn XT (fat ski) which was a lot lighter to carry on the portages. I came 6th overall and 2nd in the Vet men.
